The SSC CGL 2026 notification has mentioned around 12,256 tentative vacancies, whereas SSC CGL 2025 carried around 14,582 vacancies. This reduction of almost 2,326 vacancies is one of the biggest changes in the latest cycle. A lower number of vacancies may be directly impacted:

- Chances post allocation
- Ratio of selections made
- Distribution of seats by category
